ESD ActiveX Control for Internet Explorer is a legacy browser component developed by SMS Expert to support their web-based solutions within Internet Explorer. The control enables a web page to interact with local Windows resources—such as files, installed services, or device-level functions—so that SMS Expert’s applications can perform tasks that require desktop integration in managed, intranet environments. It is intended for use with 32-bit Internet Explorer on Windows and is not compatible with modern browsers (Microsoft Edge, Chrome, Firefox). Because Internet Explorer and ActiveX are deprecated, this component should be used only in existing environments that explicitly require it and should be deployed in accordance with your organization’s security policies.
